From the region of Kyoto, the former Japanese capital, Gyokuro is entirely part of traditional culture. This shade-grown tea from the Okumidori cultivar is grown in the beautiful terroir of Wazuka. After spending two to three weeks away from the light, the young shoots are steamed for a very short time. A very elegant tea that develops a soft profile with a pronounced umami flavour and vegetal, marine notes.
