The African word “sakani” means “joy”. It suits Malawi and the small family plantation this tea comes from perfectly. Founded in 1923 by the Scotsman Maclean Kay on the Shire highlands, Satemwa is still run by his son and grandson. Satemwa is the only plantation in Malawi to produce pure orthodox teas. With notes of tree moss after a shower, earthy nuances and a touch of blackberry, underpinned by an umami flavour, this tea is a concentrate of promise, mystery and joy.
