In the Mirik valley, to the west of the Darjeeling appellation, the Yanki Tea cooperative brings together some sixty small-producer families around the project led by Yankhu Tamang and his son Allan Rai. Far from the model of the great plantations, Yanki develops an artisanal, independent approach aimed at better valuing local harvests and offering fairer pay to the producing families.
The tea bushes, planted between 1,500 and 2,100 metres of altitude, benefit from a biodiverse environment, free of pesticides and chemicals.
This Green Bloom is the expression of experimental work: a spring Darjeeling in a green version, at once lively, fresh and lingering.
