2019 Collection Christmas box

Are you looking for an original, elegant, indulgent Christmas gift for your loved ones? Discover our 2019 Collection Christmas box in more detail!

This year, our wish was to present you with a complete box, one that would offer a unique tasting experience, full of flavours, to the people who receive this gift.
So you will find muslin, but also loose leaf, single-origin teas and scented creations, in order to introduce our world, and the world of tea, more broadly.

As tea artisans, we are committed to collaborating with artists in the creation of our limited-edition products.
Our wish? To offer a box that reflects our values and our vision of tea. That is why our 2019 Collection box is dressed with an exclusive illustration, created by the illustrator Catherine Pouly.

For the occasion, Catherine agreed to a little interview to understand her daily inspiration and her thinking for creating the design of the nunshen Christmas box:

Can you introduce yourself in a few lines, your work as well as your daily inspirations?

A graphic designer by training, I had the chance to work alongside various communication, architecture and design agencies.
Following these rich and varied experiences, I turned to brand identity and I currently work in a design studio in Lausanne specialising in this field.

Illustration is a good communication tool in my profession and I have the chance to be able to develop it as much at my workplace as during my free time.

I like to be inspired by nature and its organic side, just as I am passionate about geometric patterns, minimalist architecture and printed fabrics. I also like graphic illustrations, as much colourful and structured as simply drawn in black line.

What inspired you for the design of the nunshen Christmas boxes?

For this project, I wanted to highlight spontaneity and simplicity, while keeping the contemporary and “handmade” side. Franz Kline (Abstract Expressionism) was my source of inspiration, whose best-known paintings are in black and white. No figurative form, but simply brush marks whose result is of an impactful simplicity. An emotion that you receive full in the face and that marks the present moment.
To give the boxes a more festive side, the black was replaced with silver-grey.
